Benzak Denim Developers isn’t messing around with the BSW-02 Utility Shirt in 8oz Black Herringbone Twill. This looks to be a seriously well-made shirt that balances vintage workwear hallmarks with a modern silhouette — which is just what Benzak does — balance the old with the new.
The BSW-02 is cut from a mid-weight 8 oz. organic cotton herringbone twill from Collect Mills, the same Japanese mill that weaves selvedge denim for many of your denim labels. It’s a nice and subtly textured fabric that will reveal more of its arrowed herringbone goodness with wear and washing, looking perfectly versatile in black to pair with all manner of pants.
This simple utilitarian design is a nod to workshirts of yore, with the dual button-closing work pockets on the chest (complete with pen slot), gusseted side seams, button-front placket, felled seams, bartack seam reinforcements, and chainstiched yoke and side seams complete with run off. Each shirt is made in Portugal and finished with black overdyed catseye buttons and a branded BDD neck label.
Available for $230 from Division Road.
