Freenote Cloth Introduces New Wide Leg ‘Modesto’ Cut

The first edition of Freenote Cloth‘s Modesto Jean is now available to order. These wide-leg jeans harken back to the early days of riveted denim pants – high rise, roomy top block, and straight leg down to the hem. A wide fit is a lovely thing, and you can be one of the first adopters of this particular future classic. How exciting!

These jeans are cut from a heavier-than-average 16 oz. Japanese greencast selvedge denim. Greencast, you ask? That just means the warp yarns are hit with sulfur before being indigo-dyed, giving the resulting denim a subtle greenish undertone. Heavy denim paired with a wide fit usually ends up being incredibly comfortable and durable when broken in — that’s your cue to live in these things and allow that greencast to sing.

Detailed with metal button fly, contrast stitching, S.B. Foot Tanning Co. leather patch, vintage Japanese striped herringbone pocket bags, custom Freenote rivets and buttons, chain stitched waistband and hem, and a gorgeous vintage style pocket flasher that matches the back pocket’s acorn shape that features a simple arcuate and slash embroidered reinforcements. All made the Freenote way — in the USA.

Available for $285 from Franklin and Poe.
