Birds Fear Them, 20th-Century Travel Writers Wear Them: Russell Moccasin’s 7″ Expedition Boot

Birds fear them, early-to-mid 20th-century travel writers wear them, the Russell Moccasin 7″ Expedition Boot Classic Build boots are fair game. These poultry hunting boot-inspired boots aren’t just for hunting quail, they’re a fiercely good-looking, dependable moc style outdoor boot. What more can you ask for?

The Expedition is cut from a weathered Oak Timberjack leather, packed with element-resistant oils and solutions for the journey, quarter lined with a visually pleasing  18 oz. olive green Scottish twill. This particular boot features a signature double vamp construction with handsewn moc toe seam, contrasting stitching, brass metal lacing studs, speed hooks, all atop the Vibram Montagna outsole which climbers wore to scale the summit of Mt. Everest in 1965.

To add more interest to an already attractive and robust boot, the Expedition Boot was worn by legendary travel writer and novelist, Bruce Chatwin (as exhibited in the second image above). Chatwin saw many places and told many stories whilst stomping around in these Russells, now it’s your turn .
