Modeled after the iconic Levi’s Type III trucker jacket, Pure Blue Japan‘s 6118-ID Sashiko Type-III is exactly what it sounds like. Well, the second part that is — a trucker jacket made from woven sashiko fabric.
Pure Blue Japan stays doubling up on indigo, and this jacket is no different. Inspired by the repair process that artfully mends garments with robust, geometric patterns, PBJ has deployed a custom jacquard woven denim with an indigo sashiko-inspired pattern. The result is a jacket chock-full of texture, which is sure to become more apparent as fades begin to develop. Sashiko fabrics fade like nothing else.
The 6118-ID has all the details you’d expect from a Type III, including 2 flap chest pockets, adjustable waist tabs, and the inclusion of 2 handwarmer pockets (present on later Levi’s Trucker jackets), you have all you need to relive the glory of the 60s -70s but with a modern twist that makes this rendition one to keep an eye on. Arriving right on time for cooler temps, too. Let the layering begin.
Available for $470 from Franklin and Poe.
