Crown Northampton Makes the World’s Only Color 8 Chromexcel Desert Boots

If you grew up in the late 2000s, gravitated towards the dark arts of fashion, and had cable, you just may have discovered what desert boots were through Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations. And while desert boots were instrumental to an aesthetic that crushed in the early 2010s but eventually tapered off, those interested in a timeless style know that the desert boot never really dies.

Desert boots have long been on my watch list for a while, but when it comes to elevated examples, we aren’t exactly swimming in options. But I’m realizing you don’t need multiple options when you’re presented with the best – the Crown Northampton Woodford Desert Boot.

Seen here in the iconically rich Horween chromoexcel Color 8 with all its rich oxblood leaning hues, the Woodford is made with resoleable stitchdown construction on the pre-requisite crepe outsole that’s available in 4 different finishes — natural, coffee, black, and toffee.

Crown Northampton’s Woodford may look absolutely classic but don’t mistake that for simplicity because the Northampton craftspeople who build them by hand will tell you otherwise. You don’t make it to 5th generation in the shoemaking capital of the world by cutting corners, that’s for sure.

Available for $341 from Crown Northampton.
