Oak Street Bootmakers has done it this time. Rolling out their Camp Boot in Brown Chromexcel, Natural Chromexcel, and Natural Chromexcel Reverse just as boot season makes its way onto the horizon, I think I’ve forgotten every boot I’ve ever owned or looked at. There is only this boot now. And if you aren’t struck by it just yet, you’ll see why very soon. But maybe that is the New England hometown pride talking. After all, this style is North East through and through, starting with OSB’s signature 555 last.
On one hand, you get this rugged hunting heritage that makes you want to break out the buffalo check-plaid and maybe even tuck in your pant bottoms in a field somewhere. On the other hand, you have a dapper, casual to semi-casual boot that can instantly complement your existing wardrobe whether you’re city-clicking or answering nature’s calls. Well – not like not in the bathroom way. Unless, nevermind.
Made in the USA from a choice of Horween leathers with genuine handsewn construction throughout, each rendition of the Camp Boot sits on a Vibram 4014 Christy Sole to help you pound the pavement in style. And while my bias is evident in my gushing, I think that we can all agree that in a market where handsewn mocs can reach well over $700, Oak Street putting these out for under $450 is very welcome.
Available for $448 from Oak Street Bootmakers.
