We all have aspirations of getting our gifting wrapped up early, but life gets in the way and it doesn’t always end up that way. I write this after just ordering my last present, and we’re already in the latter half of December.
If you’re cutting it fine, fear not. Our Last Minute Gift Guide is here to help you buy high-quality, heritage-inspired gifts for your loved one, or even just yourself if you deserve it. We feature ideas at a range of price points from retailers like STAG, Huckberry, and Division Road, and include the cut-off dates for shipping by Christmas Eve. Happy gifting!
Billykirk O-Ring Belt
Despite being a menswear staple, the O-Ring style is a kind of dark horse in the belt game. Standard buckles will always be more popular, but ringed styles offer something different and have a clean look due to their lack of holes. If you know someone who might be into this style, you can’t do much better than Billykirk.
The O-Ring Cinch Belt has been on the Billykirk roster since 2002. Each one is handmade in Pennsylvania from 8/10 oz. full grain belting leather and comes with a choice of nickel or brass rings. The belt measures 1 inch wide and is finished with a hand-burnished edge – the craftsmanship will be evident as soon as the wrapping paper comes off.
At the time of writing, Billykirk is offering 20% off everything with code EVERYTHING20)
Available for $125 at Billykirk. (order by 18 December)
Studebaker Metals Classic Cuff
Jewelry is always a good gift, but ring sizing can be difficult, and to those not ‘into’ jewelry, rings/ necklaces can be a bit intimidating. That’s why I think this cuff by Studebaker Metals is a shoo-in for a late Christmas gift.
Hand-forged in Pittsburgh, PA, using .925 sterling silver, each Cuff has a polished finish, stamped outside with the brand’s signature crossed hammers, and stamped interior with the Studebaker logo.
Available for $148 from Huckberry. (order before Dec 22)
Red Wing 6″ Irish setter Moc Toe (Japan Exclusive) No 8875 – Oro Russet Portage
If in doubt, go for some Red Wings. Especially if the person you’re buying for is into any combination of raw denim, quality footwear, or heritage goods. They may not be cheap (in the pantheon of well-made, welted footwear, they’re incredibly affordable) but they’re an unquestionable classic and even if your giftee has a pair, it never hurts to have a different colorway or simply a pair on ice.
This pair of Irish Setters is particularly special, available in a previously JP-exclusive Oro Russet Portage Leather on the digital shelves at STAG. They’re made in the USA like the rest of the Red Wing Heritage lineup and feature dual-tone stitching, all upon the brand’s classic Traction Tread wedge sole.
Available for $360 from STAG. (Order by 18 Dec)
Japan Blue 501-IND Circle Series – Loose Straight – 14.8oz US Cotton Indigo
Maybe the denim head in your life has a New Year’s resolution to get into some looser denim? Look no further than Japan Blue‘s 501 Loose Straight.
Despite being named after Levi’s’ seminal model, these are a modern cut that has a roomy seat and width through the leg, all balanced by a gentle taper. That taper makes this wider cut more accessible by tidying up the hem width a bit — perfect for a wide-leg rookie. Each pair is made in Japan from Collect Mills 14.8 oz. sanforized, one wash selvedge denim – so you can either go true to size or buy a size down, ensuring your giftee that they should stretch out an inch minimum in the waist.
Available for $245 from Division Road. (order before Dec 19th with standard shipping or Dec 20th with next-day shipping)
Randy’s Garments Longsleeve Tees
We featured Randy’s Garments in our Thrifty Gift Guide and they’re back on this list with another American-made basic that perfectly balances quality, price point, and style.
Coming in a choice of Navy or Green, these popular Longsleeves are cut and sewn in New York City using American cotton jersey. The neckline is bound for longevity and the pocket is adorned with Randy’s Garments’ charming logo.
Available for $48 from Huckberry. (order by Dec 22)
Il Busetto Small Bi-Fold Wallet
A nice slice of vegetable-tanned leather is a formidable Christmas gift, and this Small Bi-Fold Wallet by Il Busetto has caught my eye.
Made in Italy, the Small Bi-Fold is available in 4 colorways and comes with card sleeves and a fabric-lined bill slot. It’s available in 4 colorways, but the highlight has to be that festive green colorway. Christmas is about memories after all, and that pine green will remind the receiver of exactly when they received this beautiful wallet.
Available for $128 from STAG. (Order by 18 Dec)
Flint and Tinder Bone Button Western Shirt
Despite having a bit of a ‘moment’ in the menswear paradigm, Western Shirts have been and will always be a classic. We’ve featured a fair amount of raw denim Western shirts here at Heddels, but not everyone is into dark indigo shirting. This Flint and Tinder Bone Button Western has a really decent quality-character-price profile and comes in a range of alternative colors.
Each shirt is made in the USA and comes with burned bone snaps that mirror the rich texture of the washed 8 oz. cotton twill fabrics on offer. You can’t go wrong with the bleach wash in terms of timeless style, but the black colorway is perhaps more winter-ready.
Available for $158 from Huckberry. (order by Dec 22)
Misc. Goods Co. Cone Incense – Underhill
On a shoestring or filling a stocking? Incense is always a winner in my household. Sure, you can pick some up for first cheap on Amazon, but there are a bunch of brands producing something more considered.
Misc. Goods Co. is one of those brands, offering up these incense cones which are hand-dipped in the USA. The cone form offers a more intense aroma hit than an incense stick and the Tobacco, Cedarwood, and Beer scent is inspired by nights in the great outdoors.
Available for $20 from STAG.(Order by 18 Dec)
