Fatigues have hit the big time in the last 5 years but very few brands are producing proper OG 107s with the correct fabric, fit, and detailing. And despite being an American military classic, there’s a real lack of American brands producing high-quality, historically-informed 107 Fatigue Pants. Until now.
Made in USA powerhouse Left field NYC has opened pre-orders for its 107 60’s Era Gi Chinos in 12 oz. Cotton Back Satin. As the name would suggest, these Fatigues are crafted in the USA from 12 oz. cotton back satin, which has been reproduced by a Japanese textile mill to mirror original examples. But Left Field didn’t stick to the prerequisite OD green, they opened this classic up into a trio of colorways that includes black and khaki options.
In terms of silhouette, these have a high rise and a full leg. They’re on the wider side of straight leg without being super baggy. Details include front and back patch pockets, vintage reproduction military buttons, and a Hollywood waistband. If you’re unfamiliar with a Hollywood waistband, it’s where the waistband is created using stitching and/or pleats, rather than being a separate band of fabric sewn onto the pant. 60s-era Fatigues had this detail, so of course the ever-discerning Left Field included it on their repro.
As a perennial fatigue wearer, I’m geeked over all three colorways. If you haven’t tried Fatigues before, go for the Olive green. It’s an undeniable wardrobe staple. Just pair with a quality sweater/sweatshirt and a denim jacket and you’re set. If you’re a fatigue aficionado already, draw for one of the lesser-seen colorways. I have a feeling these will be an instant classic.
Available from Left Field NYC for $230.
