Grow Verdant Fades with Pure Blue Japan’s Olive Sashiko Jeans

It’s a new year, which is always a good time to inaugurate a new pair of jeans if needed. If you want to bust out of that raw denim box you’ve been living in, we’re officially endorsing the Pure Blue Japan Olive Sashiko denim collection as a worthy candidate for refreshing break-in.

PBJ makes great stuff, no question about it, painstakingly working with their partner fabric mills to create one-of-a-kind fabrics that meet their high standards. The two pairs of jeans featured in this collection are the brand’s ever-popular 019 fit (a relaxed tapered fit), and their criminally underrated 003 fit (a regular/slim straight jean), all you have to decide is how much fabric you want hugging your calves.

This spring-ready lightweight 12.5 oz sashiko stitch-reinforced denim has been sulfur-dyed a nice olive hue, similar to your trusty fatigues, but as comforting to wear as all your favorite 5-pocket jeans. They’re unsanforized, but pre-shrunk, so take them snug and let them relax a bit. They’re complete with PBJ’s iconic leaf embroidery (done up in a green Shoai edition for these special jeans), PBJ branded hardware, tonal stitching, lambskin leather patch, chain stitched hem & waistband, and all the potential for verdant sashiko fades. If you cop a pair, send us some progress pics in a year or so.
