KATO Introduces New ‘Barrel’ Straight Leg Cut

Trends come and go but the straight-leg jean is permanent. And while some folks have a different perception of what a true straight leg is, there is no denying that KATO‘s new barrel fit cuts a beautiful silhouette that leads towards the wider end of the selvedge spectrum.

Honoring its namesake, KATO’s Barrel fit has a wide top block and thigh, a generous knee area, and a taper toward the hem. And despite having that mild taper, the resulting silhouette cuts a fine, straight-leg silhouette that looks comfortable and stylish without the bellowing hems of some wide-leg jeans. Loose yet refined.

The Barrel is rolling into town in 4 proprietary KATO fabrics. The 100% cotton 12.5 oz. Natural Slub Selvedge comes in two colors – a raw medium indigo tone reminiscent of classic 1960s examples and a gently washed ‘Brian‘ edition.
