The trend of crafting a hoodie in non-traditional hoodie materials continues. Sassafras is one of only a few brands that have done the menswear classic in flannel, something we’re likely going to see more of, so this is as good as a chance to get in on their Leaf Pruner Shell Bud Half Flannel Hoodies, or what Lost & Found refers to as a “torso blanket”.

Made in Japan from 100% cotton, and cut in a contemporary (read: loose) fit, this torso blanket combines shirting details like buttoned cuffs and partial front placket, with a fixed hood with drawstring closure, a sneaky array of pockets at the belly, and a drawcord adjusting flat hemline one would normally associate with a coaches jacket. It’s a bit of a mish-mash of reference points, but that’s just par for the course when it comes to Sassafras and their garms that otherwise offer a simple, functional appearance.
