The release, aptly named the\u00a0<b>A.P.C. Kanye Capsule Collection<\/b>,\u00a0comes after weeks of speculation and rumours and consists of two pairs of jeans, three hoodies, and two t-shirts.<\/p>\n<p>According to a recent post by\u00a0<em><strong>A.P.C.<\/strong><\/em><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>founder, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.heddels.com\/2011\/03\/inside-the-mind-of-jean-touitou-apc-founder-designer\/\">Jean Touitou<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0the two sides initially made contact over two years ago when <strong>West<\/strong>\u00a0reached out to <strong>Touitou <\/strong>with hopes of picking his brain on how to get started in the Fashion industry. He wanted my advice on the fashion\u00a0industry; although I found such a request quite vague, as a mutual friend introduced us, I met with the guy. The guy talks,\u00a0talks and talks and I was having a good time listening. He had nice manners and spoke about losing his mother in a surgery\u00a0accident, about losing his girlfriend too, and about how difficult doing the right thing in fashion was. After a while, I was\u00a0curious to know what this gentleman was currently doing in his life. I simply asked him: \u201cMay I know what your trade is, sir?\u201d\u00a0He took his shades down, so that finally I could see his eyes, and answered me: \u201cI am a hip hop artist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At some point my crew informed me that his name was West, Kanye West. I introduced him to the A.P.C. design studio, and\u00a0he kept asking how he could start something in that fashion industry. This is when we all advised him to start that something\u00a0in France, and keep quiet about fashion noise while learning about it. Then later, as we became friends, he invited me to his\u00a0recording studio at Hotel Meurice. At the time he was working with Jay-Z on an album, which wasn\u2019t already named, Watch\u00a0the Throne. Music)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>We know many may moan and groan and roll their eyes when hearing mention of either\u00a0<em><strong>A.P.C.<\/strong><\/em><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>or <strong>Yeezus<\/strong>. However, given how radically different both parties are in their creative approaches,\u00a0one can&#8217;t deny the eccentric lure of this release.\u00a0<em><strong>A.P.C.<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0is of course known for it&#8217;s minimal, ready-to-wear garments and subdued aesthetics, while West is (in)famous for his more loud and often disjointed sense of style.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of the actual denims within the collection, deeming them as revolutionary or recommending them as &#8220;must-haves&#8221; would be a stretch. Aside from the red\u00a0<strong>A.P.C. KANYE\u00a0<\/strong>label, both the raw and stonewashed denim utilize <em><strong>A.P.C.<\/strong><\/em>&#8216;s\u00a0standard 13 Oz. Japanese raw denim and a wide hipped, skinny legged silhouette\u00a0with low rise. This combined with the denim&#8217;s traditional hardware and construction, on the surface the value just doesn&#8217;t seem to be there.<\/p>\n<p>Agree or disagree?
