It doesn’t get much more iconic than Alden‘s Original Brown Workboot in Leather 405. Known as the “Indy” after a loose connection with Indiana Jones, they’re the kind of boot you can wear literally forever, assuming you’re caring for them properly and re-soling at an appropriate time. Take care of your damn boots, people!

This particular Alden Indy is cut from a nice medium brown tanned leather with hues of burnished red, again, it doesn’t get any more iconic. That reddish brown is sure to sop up all the patina you can throw at it over the years. My advice? Learn to embrace the change. And when it comes to the silhouette, the Indy has that perfect low-but-not-too-low toe profile that makes the boot nimble enough to pair with slim tapered jeans, but robust enough to sit under some wide-legged pants or jeans. It really is spot on. If the more chunky Moc Toes of Red Wing and Thorogood have you scratching your head in terms of styling but you like the look of a moc toe, then the Alden Indy is probably for you.
