He hoped that this approach would\u00a0result in an affordable, high-quality product. He didn&#8217;t want his products to be known for\u00a0<em>who <\/em>was wearing them, but rather how they looked, felt, and were produced\u2014always in Canada, and always from raw, un-distressed Japanese denim.<\/p>\n<p>The sole use of Japanese raw denim is integral to the philosophy of Naked &amp; Famous. Svarc has never been shy to air his opinions of pre-distressed denim\u2014comparing the act of buying pre-distressed jeans to buying a Ferrari covered in rust and scratches\u2014and\u00a0therefore Naked &amp; Famous will always use raw denim that was milled in Japan, which arrives as a blank canvas on which the customer can\u00a0make their mark.<\/p>\n<p>But that&#8217;s\u00a0not to say their products are simple. Svarc is a self-professed denim nerd, and uses Naked &amp; Famous to channel his creativity by experimenting with raw denim and pushing it to its limits. Consequently, Naked &amp; Famous quickly made waves in the denim world with products like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heddels.com\/2011\/07\/just-released-naked-famous-glow-in-the-dark-raw-denim\/\">glow-in-the-dark denim<\/a>, heat-sensitive <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heddels.com\/2013\/02\/naked-famous-springsummer-2013-collection-in-depth-guide\/\">thermochromic denim<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heddels.com\/2016\/05\/naked-famous-32oz-super-heavyweight-jeans-final-restocks\/\">world&#8217;s heaviest denim<\/a>,\u00a0which weighs in at 32oz. per square yard.
