Fade Friday – DSTLD 24 Dip Indigo Timber (1.5 Years, Unknown Washes & Soaks)

For this week’s Fade Friday, we have a pair of jeans that built a home. Travis in Salt Lake City purchased these DSTLD Skinny Slim 24 Dip Indigo Timber jeans to wear on the job, building his own house. Ironically, as he created one thing, he destroyed another; namely, these jeans.

Travis didn’t wash these until about 6 months in, about a third of the way into their lifespan so far. The gnarly fades you see weren’t just from lack of washing, though; Travis was grinding metal daily in these- so obviously that helped make the fades pop.

It’s pretty much time to retire these babies. There’s caulk still on then, some paint too, and over the course of his building process, they racked up five crotch repairs–Travis reached the point where the crotch would only hold for a day or two before blowing out again. The back pocket stitching is shot, grease stains abound, but there’s plenty to admire here too.  Tight honeycombs, the faded seat, lap, and knees. In short, the jeans are thoroughly destroyed. Let’s just hope the house is OK.
