Sugar Cane Blends Ikat & Madras On Its SC28846 Shirt

If you’ve been reading our stuff long enough, you know some of the classic summer shirting staples and you probably know madras is one of them. And if you’ve really been in the weeds here, you probably know ikat as well, the Indonesian dyeing technique.

The good people at Sugar Cane have combined these two great traditions, for a long-sleeve beauty that will go well with just about any other piece of summery clothing. Woven in Chennai (which was Madras), the fabrics feature the classic madras check as well as a subtle kasuri thread motif that resembles a subtle ikat pattern. Available in light washed-out blue and red patterns, both iterations are charming and oh-so-wearable.

Made in Japan, this simple-but-striking shirt is a perfect choice for summer, that light 100% cotton fabric is gonna let you breathe like a charm whilst turning all the right heads.
