Sump cloth isn’t exactly workwear. Sure, it’s a hardwearing, heavy cotton fabric, but it’s used to sump oil from machines, not for draping onto fleshy human bodies. Naturally, this was a fabric that Tender uses in their Periscope Shirt.
It’s a collared work shirt that not only is a bit longer than contemporary work shirts, but also has a dropped back hem. All that space is utilized by two massive chest pockets that can be accessed towards the top (for loading and removing tools, for example) or at the bottom for resting your hands. Bonus points for olive wood buttons, pleated false-face cuffs, and a general all-around “I’m as happy to spend a day in the garden as I am doing anything else, sort of vibe.
