Sliver
What does Sliver mean?
The continuous strands of fibre that come from the carding process and are untwisted. Sliver is the loose and soft cotton fibres that a created through the carding machin in the yarning process.

Slivers are long, loose ropes of fibers created during the carding process that may be further straightened and compacted during combing. The slivers are then drawn, or drafted, into roving.
