Don Some Dobby With Studio D’Artisan’s Shijira Kasuri Shirt

Seeing as Studio D’Artisan is of the oldest Japanese selvedge denim brands in the game and arguably the proprietors of Japanese denim as we know it, it makes total sense that the brand can flex its sartorial muscles in a way not many other brands can. Just take this The new Shijira Kasuri Shirt, for example.

SDA took the Japanese art of Kasuri and ran it through a dobby loom to create this uneven, perfectly imperfect 100% cotton fabric. Lighter indigo yarns are fed into the dobby loom to create the Kasuri illusion we know and love, and the uneven warp and weft yarns with varying elasticity create a super interesting fabric that’s just perfect for the warmer months ahead.

Made in Japan, each shirt comes in classic short-sleeve construction with a straight-ish hem, finished with shell buttons and a button-down collar.
