Heddels explains Whiskering

Whiskering, or hige, refers to thin fading lines formed from creases that are usually found on the front pocket area of jeans. Skinnier jeans tend to have tighter, straighter whiskers, while looser jeans have wider, more angled whiskers. Today, the majority of jeans are sold with pre-fabricated whiskers, a trend originating with hip hop designers.
