Crafting Novesta’s Latest Indigo-Print Sneakers with Slovakia’s Only Certified Blueprinter

Growing up as a Mister Rogers fan, I had a particular obsession with the “How It’s Made” video series wherein, once you went through the magical train tunnel, you got to see how things like raincoats and crayons and pretzels are made (which, in hindsight, makes for a pretty obvious precursor to writing about intentionally-made things).

I would also recommend this video to anyone who has a sneaker fixation (again, me), and/or loves trimming the extra edges off of pie crusts (*raises hand…). Sneaker brand Novesta teamed up with its fellow countryman Matej Rabada — the only certified blueprinter in Slovakia — for a custom fabric based on traditional Slovakian folk designs done in a beautiful shade of our most favorite color, which was then applied to their iconic Star Master silhouette.

Have you watched the video yet? You can do that here. And you can pick up a pair of the limited-edition sneaks — only 300 were made — from Novesta for 74€.
