Sometimes, the best pieces aren’t found. Sometimes, the best pieces find us. Today’s Fade of the Day is an example of this, as John Worgul of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, proves with his Red Wing Pecos boots he found while cleaning out a closet.
Sadly for John’s family, John’s father-in-law passed away recently. John helped clean out his room, and in so doing found these vintage Pecos boots collecting dust. John’s father-in-law was a resourceful man who ran a farm for fun after he retired. These Pecos, although lightly used with just a bit of patina, were likely retired with him, given their age and condition. John’s wife tried to throw them out, but John knew how cool they were and kept them because they were the perfect size.
Now John gets a new pair of lightly-worn boots and the honor of filling a good man’s shoes. Our condolences to you, John.
