Everyone has that favorite pair of jeans that look and fit just right. Sometimes, they’re so right that they stay in rotation until they turn to dust. Today’s Fade of the Day is a pair of Pure Blue Japan XX-014s that Alex Porter has worn since high school, through college, and well into adult life. They aren’t quite dust yet, but they’re on their way.

Though he’s performed his own minor repairs in the crotch and butt, he admits they are due for more substantial and professional repairs. But his persistence has paid off. There are nicely contrasted whiskers in the lap and knees that stand out despite the considerable indigo loss. The honeycombs stand out even more and play nicely off the distressed seat. There are several rips and tears, but with all their years of service, these jeans are allowed to look a little rough around the edges.
