Pure Blue Japan Drops a Summer Jean

Pure Blue Japan gained notoriety for making high-quality, heavyweight denim, but with the release of their new 1143’s, Pure Blue Japan are diving into uncharted territory. As the dog days of summer are upon us, these unsanforized, once-washed, lightweight 12oz. Relaxed Tapered selvedge jeans are made for the oppressive summer heat, but still maintain the same level of quality and slubby Japanese texture of their heavier counterparts.

Made in Japan, the 1143’s are for the kind of person who doesn’t want to wear shorts but can’t stand the idea of wearing heavier denim in warmer weather. The relaxed taper gives a good amount of thigh room, and despite an aggressive taper from the knee down, the fit is good for circulation. And though they’re lightweight, the slubby uneven textured Japanese denim Pure Blue Japan has come to be known for is high quality and sewn together with 100% cotton thread.

Complete with summer-centric herringbone twill pocket lining, a deerskin leather patch, blue selvedge I.D. and a PBJ leaf logo on the back right pocket, you can cook out and cool down deep into the dying days of summer.

Available at Blue In Green for $326.
