The 1970s was a glorious decade for a lot of things; music, clothing, cars to name but a few, and sneakers were no exception. A forgotten gem from the expansive Nike Archive of that era made its triumphant — yet fairly quiet — return last year, and has really gone from strength to strength with every iteration.
The usual Nike formula of attaching a star name or brand to a reissue was abandoned with this edition of the Waffle Trainer and instead, the attention was put on reproducing this classic silhouette back as meticulously as possible. This sleek runner houses the formidable combo of nylon and suede on the uppers in a clean white and subtle gray respectively, giving way to a striking tumbled leather green swoosh. All of this is sat on the ever-familiar dual-density foam midsole and waffle outsole. I challenge you to find a more versatile sneaker this Spring!
