Fade Friday – Studio D’Artisan SD-507 (6 Years, 5 Washes)

Paging Dr. Abram, we have a massive indigo loss in the ER! Over the course of 6 years, Heddels reader and med-school grad Abram has had this pair of Studio D’Artisan SD-507 raw selvedge denim jeans by their side. Whether in class as a med student, walking around, riding their bike, or just simply hanging out — not during clinical, unfortunately — Abram might have been burning the candle at both ends but as a result, their jeans became a physical manifestation of their hard work. Well, that and their degree.

Abram’s Studio D’Artisans are at their best under the watchful eye of our very own ‘Dr. Denim’ and are alive with color, no resuscitation needed. With brightly faded thighs, knees, seat, and calves, it’s like these jeans were put under an x-ray, and their points of heavy stress became highlighted. Supported by intense crease lines that span from the waist down to the ankles, there is a mix of sharp angles and round edges which help give these fades top marks.

And although Abram probably has a steady hand when it comes to surgery, the only repairs done to these jeans were performed by the cotton surgeons over at Self Edge.
