Suede Belts – Five Plus One

Five Plus One is our weekly series of buyer’s guides. We pick a specific category and dig up five great options along with one that’s a little outside the norm.

Whether you’re new to the belt game or have been partial to not having your pants fall off for years, you can’t go wrong with a suede belt. They’re great whether you’re wearing jeans, chinos, or shorts, and are especially great if your everyday shoes are of a matching, suede variety. While we certainly couldn’t cover everything in this list, we hope it is a good starting point for your journey toward finding a belt you want to use forever.

1) Anderson’s: 3.5cm Suede Belt

Suede-Belts---Five-Plus-One-Anderson's-3.5cm-Suede-Belt

Looking for a more refined suede belt? Look no further than Anderson’s 3.5cm Suede Belt. Shown here in khaki, the contrasting edge and inside elevates this belt, as does the elegant buckle. That said, it’s wide enough to wear with jeans without feeling ridiculous. If you’re looking for a belt that can cover a wide range of formality levels this one is a strong choice.

Available for $110 from Mr. Porter.

2) Warehouse Co: “Double Rings” Suede Cowhide Belt

If you’re more of a raw-denim-everyday kind of person, then Warehouse‘s Double Rings Suede Cowhide Belt might be up your alley. Not only is it made from a thick cowhide, but the double brass ring closure will patina with age right alongside your jeans. These belts are made in Japan and feature hand-sewn details and overdyed suede.

Available for $154 from Corlection.

3) Burgus Plus: Suede Double Roller Belt

Burgus Plus‘ Suede Double Roller Belt is a nice piece that flaunts eye-catching stitching. It has a ton of great details, from the lined and stitched strap to the unique prong holes and double roller cast brass buckle, Burgus Plus didn’t overlook any details when they put this belt together.

Available for ~$100 from Sunhouse.

4) Farnese: Suede “Tubo” Tubular Belt

Farnese‘s Suede Tubo Tubular Belt is calling if you’re looking for a suede belt that is a bit dressier — perhaps for work or occasion-wear. Made from a single piece of suede that is folded over and stitched together on the inside, this belt has clean edges unlike anything else out there. In addition, the straps feature the same tubular construction, which comes together to form one compelling option.

Available for $165 from No Man Walks Alone.

5) J. Crew: Italian suede and leather round-buckle dress belt

If you’re in need of a new daily driver but don’t want to break the bank, then J. Crew‘s Italian Suede Round-Buckle Dress Belt is worth consideration. While I’m normally of the “you get what you pay for” variety when it comes to leather goods, I have to say I find more inexpensive suede belts to be solid options; while inexpensive grain-side-out leather can appear cheap, suede’s natural nap helps to hide imperfections. This belt features a unique taper, which mirrors the curvature of the buckle beautifully.

Available for $60 from J. Crew.

Plus One – Kapital: Suede NEPTUNE DISCO Buckle Belt (Super Long)

Suede-Belts---Five-Plus-One-Plus-One---Kapital-Suede-NEPTUNE-DISCO-Buckle-Belt-(Super-Long)

If you want a truly unique suede belt, then Kapital‘s Neptune Disco Belt is a clear choice. Made from a slightly slim extra-long strap, where this belt really shines is dat buckle. This unique garrison buckle features decorative engraving and inset stonework that is really quite beautiful. But if this belt is a bit too much for you don’t worry, a standard length option exists as well.

Available for $594 from Blue in Green.
