If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve faded a pair or two of jeans in your denim life. Your fading skills could win you a trip to the denim mecca of Kojima, Japan in Cultizm’s first edition of their Denim Fade Contest.
The European retailer is throwing down the indigo gauntlet in just a couple weeks, all you’ve got to do is buy a pair of raw jeans from Cultizm before October 1st (any make, any model). They’re even throwing in a 20% discount on all orders over €125 with the code FADE and free worldwide shipping on all orders over €250 (shipping to North America takes about 1-3 days for those close to the deadline).
The full rules of the contest are as follows:
- Buy a pair of rigid (unwashed) or rinsed jeans until the 30th of September 2023. You can pick any brand from Cultizm (no matter the brand/price).
- The contest starts on the 1st of October. Each participant will wear their new jeans for 1 year.
- To participate, make a post on 1st October with your unworn jeans and add your order number at Cultizm + #cultizmfades and tag @cultizm + the brand of your denim
- At the end of each month, each participant will upload their progress on Instagram with the hashtag #cultizmfades and tag @cultizm.
Important: The order number of the jeans needs to be shared when participating, to be sure the jeans was bought from Cultizm. And to be sure your jeans is not worn before the contest starts! - Cultizm will re-post each month their Top 5 of the participants on Instagram and on this special contest page. When people tag Cultizm (and use the hashtag #cultizmfades) for this competition we can use the pictures copyright free to share via our website, newsletter and social channels.
- The Cultizm Denim Fade Contest will run until the August 31, 2024.
- Cultizm, Wouter Munnichs, founder of online denim magazine Long John, and Ruedi Karrer, @swissjeansfreak and the founder of The Jeans Museum in Zurich, will select their Top 10 denim fades. The Top 10 will be uploaded on Cultizm’s Instagram, so everyone can vote on their favorite.
- After 2 weeks of voting, Cultizm will announce their Top 3 winners
Those top 3 faders will win the following:
1st place: 5 day trip for 2 people to denim mecca Kojima, Japan. Explore the denim craftsmanship from all your favorite Japanese brands.
2nd place: Bespoke pair of jeans by denim tailor Ruttloff. Create your ultimate pair of custom jeans!
3rd place: €250 Cultizm store credit to get your hands on a new fresh pair of jeans.
