Rivet & Hide Owner Danny Hodgson Talks Entrepreneurship with Monocle

UK premium denim store Rivet & Hide may be a household name in the denimhead community these days, but the journey to the company’s current position within the industry is one that originally began 40,000 feet in the air with Danny Hodgson, the store’s owner.

Hodgson recently sat down with Monocle 24’s radio show ‘The Entrepreneurs’ and talked about his career before denim. For over 25 years, he was an employee for British Airways. Though he didn’t leave the airline industry outright to start his company. Rather, there was a transition that saw him hit the ground running every time the plane touched down. At one point, Rivet & Hide was literally operating in an apartment. He talks about the store’s inception, the transition between airlines and Japanese denim, and what it takes to follow your passion.

For those of you thinking of starting your own brand or store, check out the entire interview over at Monocle.
