Q: What should my raw denim jeans look like before I know it’s time to give them a first soak/wash?
There’s no hard and fast rule as to how your denim should look prior to giving them their first wash. As long as you do see some wear in them (which shouldn’t be too difficult to see), then I would say move right ahead.
There are definitely other factors as well to consider, including the total length of wear, activities done in them, and if they just simply feel like they need to be cleaned. Personally, I try not to overthink it and tend to wash them every 3-4 months.
