Forever pushing the limits in the world of denim goods, Nudie Jeans have recently announced one of their craziest concoctions yet: their new Limited Edition Bloodline Capsule featuring three different denims constructed with paper, hemp, and bamboo. This release comes at an important time for the company, as they celebrate their 15th anniversary of denim creations this year. If you have any questions regarding the makeups of these jeans, you aren’t alone, we promise. Just keep reading.
The first of these three options is a 12.5oz. dry paper selvedge made up of 31% paper and 69% organic cotton. Paper yarn gives this denim a smooth and shiny surface with a deep, redcast indigo tone. It will be offered in both the Lean Dean and Grim Tim fits. Second, Nudie brings back the green with their 14oz. 42% hemp 52% organic cotton denim. Hemp denim has an interesting neppy cross-hatched surface appearance with varying ranges of dark indigo dye. This too is available in the Lean Dean and Grim Tim fits, as well as the Billy jacket. Finally, they round off the release with a bamboo offering. This super lightweight 7.1oz. 17% bamboo linen 83% organic cotton denim is au naturale, with no chemical processing in the creation of the linen meaning it is in fact biodegradable.
Brands like Nudie continue to push the boundaries of what is possible in the denim game, and releases like this exemplify their creative ideology.
