Fade Friday – Momotaro x Japan Blue 0700SP (2 Years, Unknown Washes)

Fade Friday is here and we have some stunning Momotaro x Japan Blue 0700SP to kick-start your weekend with some denim envy. This is yet another quality submission from Indonesia, coming to us from Heddels reader Wilson Picauly. It’s no secret that Momotaro are one of the most revered brands in the world of denim, and with fading potential like this, it’s no surprise either.

Just over 2 years of wear has gone into these jeans and they’ve come a long way from their raw state. The indigo dye has lightened up, but just the right amount for the fades to pop through with high contrast. The honeycombs are as defined as you’ll see, and we have some solid whiskers that wrap around to the seat. The buttons have even stamped their own fade into the fly.

The details of these Momos make them extra special—the pink inseam add a hint of color, and the “Battle Stripes” on the back pocket are nearly worn off. Fades battled for and truly won, we say.
