Drawing inspiration from the striped indigo dye patterns found in West African textile traditions, Anonymous Ism’s indigo African striped crew socks feature rows of varied horizontal stripes: some white, some in dark indigo; some continuous, others broken; thicker bands mixed with much finer ones. In particular, it looks like Adire alabare (stitch resist) was on Anonymous Ism’s mind in their design.
Knit in Japan with a cotton-nylon blend using a full-length ribbed construction, these socks feature an additional level of elastic ribbing at the shin to ward off droopy sock syndrome.
Available for $38 in medium-indigo and dark-indigo iterations at Unionmade.
