We’re going long for today’s Fade of the Day (don’t worry, no Statue of Liberty play). Today’s fade is something we don’t see everyday–a vintage Whiting Los Angeles varsity jacket. Heddels reader and vintage clothing dealer Brian Deutzman of New York City sent us in some shots of this circa-1960s letterman jacket as a tribute to its many years of life.
By the looks of it, this jacket was kept in good care by whoever owned it over the last few decades, as the wool body looks to still be in great shape with little to no moth damage. The white leather arms have earned a nice, dirty patina over the years which add to its overall appearance while also lending it some true sports-like character.
