Red Wing said it best when they dubbed their classic Pecos Boot “a cowboy boot with a Minnesota twist,” and almost a century later they have just released a Limited Edition version — the 9866 in Gold Russett Leather. Though it may not look like much from a distance, this boot is chock full of re-imagined detailing with a strong focus on durability and functionality, because at the end of the day, they still need to bear the Red Wing name.
For this release, they built their iconic Pecos silhouette using all antique machines, including the coveted Puritan Stitch machine. The exclusively developed Gold Russett leather was tanned and oiled in-house, and should earn some beautiful patina over time. They wrapped it up with a comfy white traction wedge sole on a Goodyear welt, interior heat-embossed specs, a leather sole and triple stitched seams throughout. Just because they’re pretty doesn’t mean they’re not ready to go to work.
