Fade of the Day – Lee 101 Rider Black (11 Months, 7 Washes)

Today’s Fade of the Day is a pair of Lee 101 13oz. Rider Black Selvage jeans from Johan Igelström of Sweden. Johan started wearing these because of an all-black dress code, but ended up adopting them as his daily pair.

He is an avid photographer and likes getting down and dirty while shooting his photos, which only adds to the fades‘ intensity. Johan takes it a step further than most and sleeps in this pair, but mostly because he is a new father (congrats!). Between changing diapers and keeping his family going, Johan doesn’t quite have time to put on PJ’s.

These Lees have a great story and a ton of character to match. You can tell Johan has been crawling and crouching from the honeycombs and the white pops in the knees. Imprints in his front and rear pockets are visible from many his adventures and the texture of the denim is clear as day. No repairs have been needed thus far, however Johan did say the crotch might need some darning soon.
