After almost 40 years in the game, Studio D’artisan is still making raw denim jeans like they have something to prove. The Japanese label is back with the Tapered Slim G-003 G3 Series, another meticulously crafted five-pocket jean that fuses modern styling with the construction methods of old.
These jeans are constructed from raw Japanese selvedge denim, which was woven on vintage Toyoda G3 shuttle looms. As Japan’s first shuttle loom, the G3 is renowned for its low tension fabrics that ooze endless texture and class, and this 15oz. unsanforized denim is no exception. Based on Studio D’artisan’s contemporary Super Tight Straight SD-107 fit, the Tapered Slim G-003 features a moderate rise and thigh, with a heavily tapered inseam that leads to a super narrow hem opening.
Each pair is made in Japan and finished with copper rivets, duck canvas pocket bags, chainstitched hems, and a goatskin leather waistpatch with a limited edition design.
Available at Division Road for $315.
