3sixteen’s Shadow Selvedge and Double Black Denim Shed a Few Ounces

When it comes to lightweight denim, some seasoned denimheads can turn their noses. But whilst they’ve been chafing away in their 40oz. denim, 3sixteen was cooking up something a little lighter, and they think they’ve hit the sweet spot with their new duo of 12oz. fabrics.

Fresh for the warmer months ahead, the Los Angeles-based brand has come through with some breezier versions of their Shadow Selvedge and Double Black denims—dubbed the 122x and 222x, respectively. Woven at the esteemed Kuroki Mills in Okayama, both fabrics clock in at the aforementioned 12oz., balancing comfort and traction with durability and ruggedness. And even though the fabrics have been rinsed and tumble-dried to reduce the break-in period, 3sixteen has given assurances that their new range of lightweight denim will echo the fading potential of their heavier equivalents.

Both new fabrics are available in 3sixteen’s classic-tapered and slim-tapered silhouettes, and you can find them over at 3sixteen for $240.
