Nine Lives and Division Road Bond Over Cargo Pants

I’ve always thought the Division Road Inc. product descriptions were out of control, but there’s always a good reason for these dense chunks of text… the sheer complexity of their collaborative designs.

Their latest endeavor with Nine Lives is no different. In fact, their new 9LU Undercover Needle Punch Cargo is a testament to the retailer and brand’s joint commitment to making really damn nice clothes. The real kicker here is the fabric, or more accurately, the two fabrics which are bonded together to form an extra durable new textile by a process called needle punching. Two Collect Mills fabrics—a salt and pepper twill and woodland camo—are united by barbed needles that punch through the two fabrics, pulling their threads together and creating a new, thicker fabric. This exclusive and innovative new fabric is then brushed on the inside to make it comfy as hell and then cut into the above cargo pants.

The cut on these bad boys has been fine-tuned for comfort and a sleek, tapered profile. A medium rise and generous thighs nip in at the articulated knee and finish in a tapered hem, which can be cuffed to reveal a pop of woodland camo contrast. Plentiful pockets and hardcore hardware round out the ensemble.
