It’s a new season, which means we have a new denim collab from Junya Watanabe and a little company called Levi’s. Just because Watanabe is best-known for his way-outta-the-box style, doesn’t mean he can’t mess around with that most classic of materials: raw denim.

This time around they’ve taken the classic Levi’s 503’s five-pocket design and mixed things up. Like, really mixed things up. The inside hem twists around, which creates a pleated effect that slims this traditionally straight-leg style. As a result, there’s also a raised waist section at the back, which adds another bit of avant-garde panache to what would otherwise be a relatively standard style. Like a mullet, this jean is business in the front and a party in the back. And like a mullet, these could suddenly rocket into style. So grab ’em before that happens.
