This Real McCoy’s Horsehide Leather Sports Jacket Will Repel Your Drool

It’s hard to be sure, but there’s about an 86 percent chance that The Real McCoy’s MJ19115 30’s Leather Sports Jacket beats people up outside of bowling alleys and keeps packs of cigarettes rolled in its t-shirt sleeve and wears boots in July. Again, it’s hard to be sure, but hunches.

In all seriousness—because this is nothing if not a serious jacket—this heater of a ‘30s reproduction was meticulously made by TRM in Japan (as always) and it features Talon zippers, an iron buckle fastening at the back, a zipped chest pocket, slanted waist pockets and adjustable cuffs. And true to the Dust Bowl-era source material, this one was crafted from a vegetable-tanned horsehide—as Lost & Found explained, calfskin was a little hard to come by during the Great Depression, which is a fact that I didn’t independently verify but is also one that tracks.

Anyways, if you’re in the market for something like this, think this might be the one and aren’t afraid to drop 2x rent on a jacket, it’s hard to imagine The Real McCoy’s steering you wrong. But also, there aren’t many so (all together now) you should probably move quick.
