Buzz Rickson’s Reproduce the G-1 with Fictional Inspirations

Masters of the heritage craft Buzz Rickson’s have been leading the pack for years when it comes to military reproductions. Taking vintage archive examples and re-making them from period correct components is the bread and better of this Japanese giant. In this case, they’ve taken the iconic US Navy flying jacket and given it one of their textbook twists.

The BR80539 William Gibson G-1 Jacket pays homage to the brands continuing relationship with the author of the same name, following his inclusion of a black Buzz Rickson’s MA-1 (a garment which didn’t actually exist at the time of writing) in his novel Pattern Recognition.

The brand have since offered a capsule collection of Buzz classics in a now renowned all black colorway. The William Gibson G-1 comes with all the trimmings including a mouton collar, Talon zipper, woven style vintage labels, wool knits, stenciled collar, and bellowed back panel. Made from a veg-tanned, hand aniline-dyed Goatskin and produced in Japan, you’ll like never need another leather jacket again after this one.

Available for £1,850 (~$2,360) from Clutch Cafe.
