Fade Friday – Lèon Denim LDXX18HB (6 Months, 1 Wash, 1 Soak)

For this week’s Fade Friday Dre Reyes from the Philippines is presenting his pair of Léon Denim that has been by his side or I guess, covering his sides, for the past 6 months. However, based on the amount of wear, you’d think Dre had them for at least double that time!

Between riding his bike to work and chores around the house, these jeans have been worn everyday and it’s clear Dre has squeezed as much out of them as he could. They have gone under the knife once due to a crotch blowout, likely from the consistent cycling and have been washed and soaked one time each.

All the details (factors) that I mentioned above culminate in a mature looking pair of jeans reminiscent of those worn by laborers in the early to mid twentieth-century. The fading is subtle and barely peeks through the deep shades of indigo, giving off a glowing effect. The layer of dirt covering the jeans is a cool accent but also reminds us of the history of dungarees, their functionality, and what role they once played in society.
