2020 has brought many really bad things and some regular bad things. One of the regular bad things is sports are weird now. And just like everything else in the world, it is up to the raw denim community to fix things and in this case, un-weird sports. Thankfully denim retailer Denimio and denim brand Cottle have taken the initiative to bring competition back into our lives through a denim olympics. Basically, they need 5 denim athletes, athletes used without any quotations signifying no stretch of the term, to wear the indigo out of a pair of Cottle jeans for a year.
Now let’s get down to bar-tacks. There are two ways to apply. One way is to upload a pic of you and your best-faded jeans to Instagram explaining why you should be one of the lucky 5 denim athletes. The other way is to create a Denim CV – aka attach a picture of your jeans to an email it to Denimio. If chosen, you will get a pair of Cottle Jeans in the mail for free in exchange for 12 intense months of denim evolution with frequent Instagram updates.
The winner will get another new pair of Cottle Jeans and their original fades will become the blueprint for a limited edition run of jeans named after them. Fellow contestants will be awarded custom Cottle t shirts.
