Sugar Cane’s 1955 Jean Is Back

After 10 years of not being in continuous production, Sugar Cane‘s 1955 Jean is back at Self Edge, for all of you aching for a solid straight leg jean with zipper-fly. The 1955 is a lot like Sugar Cane’s 1947, their near 1:1 Levi’s 501 reproduction from the mid-century, but it’s updated with an era-accurate zipper that Levi’s introduced in 1954. Other differences are found in the fabric – a rinsed 14 oz. Zimbabwe/Texas cotton-blend denim with a bit more texture than the ’47,) and contrasting lightweight denim belt loops (with one offset in the back to make it a little easier to wear).

Zipper-flys are easy, so if you can’t be bothered with fumbling with buttons on your denim, grab a pair of these and look back. Makes trying on the jean easier too, there’s zero break-in period for the button fly, ’cause there is none. Pair it with your best ’50s style shirting, jackets, and vintage style sneakers, and you’re well on your way to becoming a cast member on Happy Days- eyyyyyy.
