AURALEE’s Selvedge Light Denim Blouson Is A Trucker With A Twist

Is it a chore coat? Is it a Type I/II/III repro? No – it’s a light denim blouson!

The latest from Tokyo-based label AURALEE is a Selvedge Light Denim Blouson. Named after an American folk song meaning ‘the land that lights up’, AURALEE was founded in 2015 by designer Ryota Iwai. The forward-thinking label offers contemporary staples informed by iconic workwear and casual garments, all cut with super clean lines and highly-wearable fabrics. And the Selvedge Light Denim Blouson is a great example of how the brand takes iconic denim garb and makes it its own.

Ideal on its own when warmer and can be layered with something when it’s colder outside, this wardrobe staple is made with indigo-dyed suvin cotton selvedge denim and features a pointed collar with gunmetal buttons. What’s more, AURALEE went with a relaxed fit and opted to one-wash the lightweight denim, too. Softer and with minimal shrinkage after purchase? Hell yeah. It’s also got some pockets at the hip and can be adjusted by the cinches on the waist.
