Kapital Applies Kakishibu & Sumi Dyes To Its Century Denim 1st Jackets

Kapital‘s toughest denim ever is finally being used on their 1st Jkt silhouette. Previously, Kapital’s century denim was only used on jeans and their iconic Lee Rider repro style, but now it’s available in the form of Kapital’s straightforward Levi’s-repro style Type I reproduction. This is great news for those who like boxier, wider-fitting jackets that are incredibly tough and age like nothing else.

These renditions of Kap’s century denim fabrics are dyed Sumi and persimmon-dyed warp yarns. Sumi is a traditional Japanese ink that can produce all manner of black and grey fabrics, while persimmon (kakishibu) produces an orangey-brown hue that is completely unique.

Century is sashiko-stitch reinforced throughout with indigo-dyed threads, which means that over time, you’ll notice those reinforcing threads fading along with the base fabric. It’s one of the most unique denim options out there, filled with Japanese nuance and charm, and one of the most durable we’ve tried.

Kapital’s Century Denim 1st Jkt is complete with all the Type I jacket details: Single flap pocket on the front, pleated front, reinforcing yokes, classic T-back stitching on larger sizes, metal buttons throughout, and adjustable cuffs.

Available for $508 at Blue in Green.
