Oldblue Co. Commits to The Blues with Its ’12th Blue Spell’ Collection

Oldblue Co. is putting the denim community under a spell – an indigo-dyed blue spell, that is. The 12th Blue Spell collection commemorates everyone’s favorite deep blue dye, indigo, with a group of incredibly unique and interesting blue garments. Comprised of two jackets, two pants, and two tees. Six being a magical number, this collection has something for everyone looking to dip their toes into this special collection.

First up, the 17.5 oz. Indigo Sashiko Okayama Type III Work Jacket. The spell had us at “indigo sashiko” but this fabric formed into OldBlue Co.’s workwear-inspired jacket has an magical appearance. We expect that this rivet-reinforced, pleated front, single pocket front, rounded collar silhouette will only look more supernatural with some wear.

The other jacket in the collection is an 10 oz. Indigo Cord Type II Work Jacket. The same silhouette as mentioned above, but utilizing a lighter weight corduroy fabric, and you guessed it – it’s indigo dyed . Indigo cord is always insane when worn in, and there’s no reason to think the OBC work jacket done in this special fabric will be any different, if the spell holds.

The first pants to mention are an 8 oz. Indigo Wabash Corduroy dungaree, AKA OldBlue Co’s ‘The Prospector’ pants, which are based on fargone designs. These 1890s style pants are single-needle stitched, feature hand-felled seams, and a relaxed straight leg fit. Wabash corduroy, say what? This might be the craziest fabric we’ve seen all year, these are a standout piece from the collection, truly a magical looking fabric.

Next up are the 14 oz. Heavy Indigo Duck Jeans. These are your standard 5-pocket fare, which you can’t go wrong with, done up in a deeply-dyed indigo duck fabric… just imagine the fades! Indigo dyed canvas has a tendency to hold its shape well (that means high contrast fades), and fade bright blue, these would be a great piece to throw into the rotation if you’re looking for something different than your average denim.

Rounding out the collection are two snazzy graphic tees commemorating the collection – they seem to be horror-inspired, as if “The Spell” were a real, threatening force that took over its prey with grave effect, which interest in our niche of fashion absolutely does. The spell is real.
