If there’s one thing every cowboy needs for a life out on the range, it’s a good pair of work jeans—something that can take a beating and stand the test of time, day after livestock wrangling, field plowing, beer drinking day. Luckily for the modern cowboy, brands like Freenote Cloth deliver goods that fill purpose and then some.
The brand’s new Wilkes Western Jeans are made with a mighty fine 13oz. broken twill denim from Yoshiwa Mills in Japan, rich with texture and beautiful indigo tones that will really shine after some wear (even if it’s not on a farm). They feature an elongated front rise with a regular thigh and knee, and a fit that’s slim but not so slim that it won’t fit over your favorite pair of boots. Rather than buttons, Freenote opted to go with a brass YKK zip fly for this release, which pairs nicely with the custom rivets and button tacks found throughout.
Of course, they wouldn’t be work pants without some added reinforcements, which is delivered in the form of double needle stitched outseam construction, flat felled seams, and a two piece waistband, so you can put ’em to the test without worry. Yeehaw!
