Today’s Fade Of The Day shines a light on Erik Pudas’s 18-month-old Samurai Jeans S510XXGAs, and we have a hunch that Samurai would approve of the way he’s wearing this coveted 15th Anniversary edition. Erik wears these hard as a daily work pant, and he works in a cider brewery, where they’ve come in contact with plenty of dirt, water, and cider, which has been the cause for the 30+ washes he’s given them thus far.
The result is a pair of jeans that has clear signs of being well worn—it’s a work jean after all—with a nice, consistent depletion of indigo throughout. Jeans that are washed as seldom as possible tend to have a barrel-load of deep and dark indigo retention at the shin, but these are missing that, making them easy on the eye. Sure, the honeycombs aren’t the most intense ever as a result, but all those washes did provide a gorgeous ocean-blue hue.
They’ve been deftly repaired (twice) by Indigo Proof and, they still look great, which is something we can clink a bottle of cider to.
